PEL does well

Partnership Education Limited (PEL), of Cranfield Innovation Centre, a provider of outsourced services to schools, has been named as one of four finalists in the 2007 UK Start Up Awards.

PEL was set up early this year by educational administrators who anticipated changes at County Hall Bedfordshire, and provides such services as Human Resources, ICT support and procurement, training and development.  Within three months of launching at Cranfield Innovation Centre more than 100 schools were working with the organisation.

Lunch and Learn Seminars  - Autumn Term

Partnership Education is running a number of Lunch and Learn Seminars this term.  These sessions are provided free of charge for Partnership Education Foundation Schools and are held at our offices in the Innovation Centre, Cranfield.   They offer an opportunity to meet with our ICT consultants to discuss ICT issues around a number of different topics over an informal lunch. 

Typical format of the sessions:-

Lunch
Short presentation/formal input on specific topic
Informal discussions

The sessions normally last around 2 hours in all.

Ferrars Radio FM


Ferrars Junior School in Luton are in the process of creating a radio programme to re-engage disaffected pupils.  The school is working with Partnership Education to achieve their goal.

The school have been using Garage Band which is a piece of software provided by Apple Mac's.  The use of a Dictaphone allows the pupils to put their thought process down on tape and then  using the recording to create a script.
