Modern approaches to data protection Friday 30 April 2010, 13:00 This seminar will cover a practical look at Microsoft’s’ Data Protection Manager and large storage Disk backup devices. To include: > Disc to Disc > Disc to Disc to Tape > Online backup options Aimed at: ICT Staff, ICT aware Admin Staff or Management. Protecting your vulnerable data – approaches to encrypting data on ICT storage Friday 14 May 2010, 13:00 This seminar will look at how data might be protected on both your hard drive and removable media. It will consider how to use the features of your OS and free tools as well as commercial offerings. To include: > Encryption principles – not too technical > Free tools > Features of the OS which you may not be aware of or use - Bitlocker > Freeware – Truecrypt – free but is it secure? Aimed at: ICT Staff, ICT aware Admin Staff or Management. Possible future sessions - virtualisation in schools. General course information and booking: These short courses are offered free to member schools on a “first come first served basis”. They include a sandwich lunch prior to the seminar. Non members may apply for surplus places at a cost of £25 to include lunch. All courses will run from the Cranfield Innovation Centre.
